When Millie accepts a job as a live-in housemaid for the wealthy Winchester family, she sees it as her chance to make a fresh start.

Every day, she cleans their beautiful home, collects their daughter from school and prepares dinner before retreating to her tiny attic bedroom.

But something isn't right.

Nina Winchester seems determined to make Millie's life difficult, telling strange lies and creating messes just to watch her clean them. Her husband, Andrew, appears increasingly broken, and Millie finds herself drawn to him despite knowing she shouldn't be.
